Inspired and empowered youths innovating for Sarawak

THE year 2010 has been dedicated by Malaysia as the 'Year of Innovation and Creativity'.

Does Sarawak have to worry about not having participants for this initiative?

The answer to that is No.

Thanks to Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (Azam), Sarawak already has at least five ideas to qualify for being innovative and creative.

Inspiring the youths of Sarawak

OVER the years, Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (Azam) has implemented several projects that catered to the youths of Sarawak.

Mainly, these initiatives focused on creating aware­ness among our young population on Sarawak's development programmes and how they benefit them.

In addition, Azam has been implementing a project called the 'Azam Young Communicator's Club', which seeks to equip young Sarawakians with basic communication skills and enhancing their under­standing and appreciation of Sarawak's rich cultural heritage.Read More

And now they can say ... ‘YES I SEE…’

Two weeks ago, this column published an article called 'A cry for attention' highlighting among other things, the challenges faced by today's youths in getting their voices heard.

The article mentioned a youth programme called YES - 'Youth engaged and empowered to serve', initiated by Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam) Sarawak as a way to provide an avenue for local youths to explore their positive attributes towards achieving their life's goals.

I can say that this is indeed one of the most worthwhile programmes that I have ever been involved in. And I'm not just saying this because I was part of the team that conceptualised the programme, and am also now very much involved in its implementation.Read More

YES! to the youth of Sarawak

Azam leads the way in creating social consciousness among the youth of Sarawak through its YES! Programme

SOCIALLY-conscious. Innovative. Able to work together as a team. This is how we can proudly describe the youth of Sarawak today.

The reality is that when they put their minds to it, and given the right direction and guidance, the state's youths can really come up with some amazing ideas.
